Hip-hop fest returns to the Max Bell Centre Festival Grounds for Aug. 4 event featuring some of the music’s biggest names.
What the world needs now is love, One Love.
With all the noise, fighting and, well, crap going on right now, it’s nice to know that this August Calgary will get a healthy dose of love.
The One Love hip-hop festival will return Aug. 4 for its third year with a show at the Max Bell Centre Festival Grounds — a change from last year’s event which was held at Elliston Park and was a two-day event.
Headliners for this year’s fest are an impressive lot, with organizers announcing the lineup late Tuesday including: Former Fugees member, Ms. Lauryn Hill, who’s also known for her classic album, 1998’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill; Cali rapper Anderson Paak and the Free Nationals; Wu-Tang member RZA as Bobby Digital with Stone Mecca; Lotus Flower Bomb-dropper Wale; Grammy-winning Christian hip-hop star Lecrae; and alt Florida rap star Blackbear.
More acts are still to be announced.
Tickets for One Love Music will go sale this Friday, with general admission tickets starting at $79.95 (plus service charges) and 18+ VIP tickets $119.95 (plus service charges), as well as the combo tickets for this festival and its EDM sister Chasing Summer, which takes place Aug. 5 and 6 at Max Bell as well, starting at $239.95 (plus those darn service charges).
