Beach Season, Copperhead, Mariel Buckley, Calvin Love announced for NMC’s fall Alberta Spotlight series

While you shouldn’t quite give up on the summer yet, you now have a few reasons to look forward to fall.

National Music Centre has just announced its end-of-year 2019 edition of the Alberta Spotlight series — which showcases the amazing homegrown talent in this province — and it’s another crop of eclectic artists and sounds that will be filling Studio Bell.

The season includes: Calgary electro-pop ’n’ soul duo Beach Season on Sept. 20; mournful and dreamy Edmonton bedsit strummer Calvin Love on Oct. 18; a Nov. 22 show by smoky, shimmering, lucid and lovely rock locals Copperhead; and the mighty alt-country force of nature that is Mariel Buckley on Dec. 12.

“With each season of Alberta Spotlight, we continue to uncover the national-level talent that exists here in the province,” Adam Fox, NMC’s director of programs, said in a release. “This season features a roster of rising acts who are on the cusp of great things.”

Tickets for the season, which theYYSCENE is a proud partner of, are available now from
